Dr. Gulosh's Mission Trip!
We are excited to share that Dr. Gulosh is joining the Light A Candle Dominican Republic on a faith-based mission trip. She will be providing essential podiatric services to men, women, and children in need, many of whom are Haitian refugees living in the sugarcane plantation villages known as Bateys in the Dominican Republic.
In the southeast region of the Dominican Republic live some of the poorest people in the Western Hemisphere. Sugarcane harvesting is still a manual process, cut by hand with machetes and hauled to the train by ox-driven carts. Most housing in the Bateys has no electricity, no running water, no bathrooms, and very little access to education, health, and medical services. The people of the Bateys are mostly Haitian immigrants living in abject poverty.

We kindly ask for your prayers for a safe and fulfilling experience.

Dr. Gulosh can't wait to share her journey with all of you, her amazing patients, who have been so supportive of her time off. A special thank you to her partners at FFAC who will be seeing her patients while she's away.
